How to prepare the room, control the amount of oil and make cleanup easier for a comfortable home massage.

Prepare before the oil is opened

Place a washable towel under the massage area, keep a second towel within reach and remove jewellery that could scratch. A comfortably warm room helps solid coconut oil soften and keeps the person receiving the massage relaxed.

Make sure both people can move safely. Oil on feet, flooring or a tub edge creates a real slip risk, so keep the work area contained.

Start with less than you expect

Warm about half a teaspoon between clean palms for a small area such as shoulders or lower legs. Spread it first, then add a few drops only when your hands stop gliding comfortably.

Pouring directly from the bottle makes it easy to overuse and can create cold spots. If the oil is solid, lift out a little with a clean, dry spoon.

Keep pressure comfortable

Oil reduces surface friction, but it does not make deep pressure automatically safe. Use broad, slow movements and ask for feedback. Avoid bruised, swollen, numb or painful areas and never massage an injury you cannot assess.

For relaxation, consistency is more useful than force. Stop if the recipient feels sharp pain, tingling, dizziness or discomfort.

Finish and clean up

Blot excess oil with a warm damp towel rather than rubbing hard. Wash hands and wipe every surface that could become slippery. Launder oily towels separately when practical and never place heavily oil-soaked fabric near open heat.

Close the product immediately with clean hands and return it to a cool, dry cupboard away from direct sun.
